    £600 raised for music charity
    The wonderful audience who packed out our last concert donated £600 to The Shortlands Choirs' chosen charity, Jessie's Fund, which helps children with additional and complex needs or serious illness to communicate by using music.

    The charity's work covers all areas of the UK and it aims to:

    - enable children in every children’s hospice in the country to access music therapy by establishing posts for music therapists, providing appropriate musical instruments, and offering musical training to staff;
    - help children in special schools and hospitals to participate in creative musical activities; and
    - train staff in special schools to use music as a tool for communication and learning: www.jessiesfund.org.uk

    We were so excited to be able to hand over the donation to such a good cause at a recent rehearsal.

    Thanks to the very generous audience at our last concert, we've been able to donate £300 to local charity, Twang Music Foundation. The money will help Twang make music more accessible to economically disadvantaged children in the area by running workshops and choirs, and through providing musical instruments to local schools, among other things.
